Combined Schools Orchestral Concert

Over 1200 instrumental music students from state schools in the Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast and Mt Morgan areas will perform in the 2009 Combined Schools Concert. Concert bands, string orchestras, big bands and small ensembles of different age groups from a combination of schools will perform each night.

From the creators of Ice Age comes Horton Hears A Who. Dr Suess’s story of Horton the elephant who one day hears a cry for help coming from a speck of dust. The speck of dust is Whoville, the home of the Whos. But not everyone shares Horton's desire to help the Whos. A Rockhampton Regional Council event .

Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes

The Fairies are having a fan-fairy-tastic 2009, with a brand new series being filmed in May, and a host of live shows scheduled from September onwards, around most of Australia. The Fairies’ Fairy Tales & Nursery Rhymes Tour will feature four well-loved fairy tales now in fabulous new songs, plus sing-along nursery rhymes and a magic burst of The Fairies favourites in Jump Jump Star, Fairy Ballet, The Silly Song and Fairy Dancing Girl.

This year's tour will feature Harmony, Rhapsody, Barnaby and Wizzy, along with The Fairies brand new friend, Fairy Princess Minuet, the Dancing Fairy, who will perform magical ballet on pointe to delight all of our fairy fans.

Sunday Sessions Stuff the Stocking


Hear some great live local music and help a charity at the same time at the Sunday Sessions–Stuff the Stocking concert. Be entertained by Finabah, The Shortfall, Devoid, Bree & Jenko and The Renegades. All you need to do is bring an item of non-perishable food for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Hamper Appeal. A Rockhampton Regional Council event.

Phantom of the Music Hall




The Whitechapel Music Hall is facing closure. A wealthy stage mother, ambitious for her daughter, has purchased the theatre and plans to mount a production of Cinderella. However the resident Phantom, who objects to pantomimes, does his best to disrupt the rehearsals. How can such a conflict of interest be resolved to provide a happy ending? Performed by the Rockhampton Little Theatre with Dinner Show cuisine by Hansens Catering, this light hearted musical melodrama is sure to please.

Starstruck


Starstruck is Dance Star Studio’s end of year concert. Audiences are sure to love items from such favourites such as Shirley Temple, Babes in Toyland and 42nd Street as well as more modern pieces from Cirque Du Soleil, Mamma Mia, Pink and Michael Jackson. The students will perform in a variety of dance styles including jazz, contemporary, tap, classical ballet and novelty items especially choreographed for the concert. There is something for everyone!

A Night To Remember


The students of Katherine’s Academy of Dance & Theatre Arts extend an invitation to all to celebrate the studio’s 5th anniversary. A concert filled with a fabulous array of dance entertainment is planned. Students of all ages will be performing various dance styles including classical, contemporary, tap, modern jazz and cabaret. A touch of Broadway will compliment the program.
